Connecting ServiceM8

Connect ServiceM8 to Sidekick, what Sidekick reads, and how to reconnect or disconnect.

Connecting

  1. In Sidekick, go to Settings → Connections.
  2. Press + Connect ServiceM8. You're taken to ServiceM8 to sign in.
  3. ServiceM8 shows what Sidekick is asking to read. Approve it.
  4. You're brought back to Sidekick and the first sync starts.

If you run more than one business, Sidekick asks which ServiceM8 account belongs to which Xero organisation.

What Sidekick reads from ServiceM8

  • Jobs, their status and site address, job types and job payments.
  • Time recorded against each job, and staff hours.
  • Materials used on jobs, and your materials list (including labour rate items).
  • Clients and their contact details (stored encrypted).
  • Customer feedback, equipment recorded against a customer, and job messages.

Access is read-only. Sidekick never creates or changes jobs, clients or anything else in ServiceM8.

If ServiceM8 disconnects

If ServiceM8 stops accepting Sidekick's access, a bar appears saying ServiceM8 has disconnected. Go to Settings → Connections and press Reconnect ServiceM8. Your history is kept.

Disconnecting

Press Disconnect next to the ServiceM8 account on the Connections page. Sidekick stops syncing and deletes its access, and keeps the history already synced. See Disconnecting and deleting your data.
